Physical Therapy for Accident Recovery in Eugene, OR
After an accident it’s important to get checked for injuries and pain. Often in the case of motorcycle and car accidents, workplace accidents, and slip and falls, the back and neck is affected, and can result in injury and/or chronic pain. Common symptoms include pain, inflammation, muscle spasms and a limited range of motion.
These will sometimes fix themselves on their own, but that is not guaranteed, and it’s important to get checked and diagnosed. Many of these injuries or pain will not go away without treatment and/or physical therapy.
A common injury in an accident is whiplash. If you were in a car or motorcycle accident, you could be suffering a whiplash trauma. Whiplash is a neck injury due to forceful and rapid back-and-forth movement of the neck. And it usually occurs during rear-end car accidents.
The most common symptoms of whiplash are neck pain, stiffness, and headaches. And although many people feel better after some weeks or medications, others might end up with chronic neck pain or other complications. If you have neck pain or any other symptom like ringing ears, dizziness, loss of range of motion, fatigue, tingling or numbness, etc. you should visit your doctor.
